NORTON BLOCKING OFFICE 365

Norton 360 is a security tool that includes a personal firewall, an antivirus program, a PC backup feature, phishing protection, VPN security, etc. Sometimes, the Norton antivirus will block Office 365 application, and you can’t use it on your computer. This issue occurs due to the Norton application rule or client integration. By following the below instructions, you can solve the problem.

Norton Blocking Office 365

REMOVE THE APPLICATION BLOCKING RULE ON NORTON

  • Select the Start menu on your computer and launch the Norton application.
  • When you see the My Norton window on the screen, click the Open button straight to the Device Security option.
  • From Norton’s main screen, select the Advanced option or click the Setting option at the top-right corner of the window
  • Select the Firewall option.
  • Click the Settings icon next to the Application Blocking option.
  • Now, a list of applications will appear in the Application Blocking window.
  • Choose the application that has the repeated Norton alert and click Remove.
  • Again, click the Remove option in the confirmation dialog box.
  • Next, click on the Done button at the bottom of the window.
  • Quit all running programs and restart your computer.
  • Once your computer turns on, set up a new application blocking rule on Norton.

ADD A NEW APPLICATION BLOCKING RULE

Although the phishing email looks like a normal email sent from a trusted organization or address, there are some ways to identify it.

If the received email:

  • Click the Start menu on your computer and open the Norton application.
  • If you see the My Norton window on the screen, click the Open button straight to the Device Security option.
  • Choose the Advanced option on Norton’s main screen or click the Settings option.
  • In the Settings window, click Firewall.
  • Click the Settings icon next to the Application Blocking option.
  • Select the Add application at the bottom of the Application Blocking window.
  • Select the Office 365 application from the list in the Choose Application window.
  • If the application does not appear on the screen, select the Other option and open the application.
  • Finally, click Choose.

TURN OFF ANTISPAM CLIENT INTEGRATION

Turn Off Antispam Client Integration
  • Click the Start menu on your computer and open the Norton application.
  • When you see the My Norton window on the screen, click the Open button straight to the Device Security option.
  • Select the Settings option.
  • Choose the Antispam option in the Settings Window.
  • Now, select the Client Integration tab at the bottom of the screen.
  • Here, toggle off the Outlook application.
  • Click the Apply button followed by Close.

ENABLE ANTISPAM CLIENT INTEGRATION

Enable Antispam Client Integration
  • Select the Start menu and launch the Norton application on your computer.
  • When the My Norton window appears on the screen, click Open.
  • Click on the Settings option.
  • Next, select the Antispam option from in the Settings Window.
  • Choose the Client Integration tab.
  • Under the Email Clients section, slide the Outlook switch to on.
  • Click Apply> Close.
  • Now, close all the running applications and restart your computer.
  • Once your computer turns on, check if the issue is solved.
