Once you open an email attachment sent to you, the Auto-protect option in the Norton 360 will recognize it and will automatically remove any infected file. In the POP3 accounts, the email scanning feature recognizes and deletes the infected attachments before downloading it to the inbox.

  • First, open the Norton 360 application by double-clicking the Norton 360 icon on the desktop.
  • On the main user interface, click the Options button.

  • You can also try to add a new rule within the firewall.

  • Now, untick Scan Outgoing email messages and then click the Apply option.
  • Next, in the Security request window, choose the Permanently option from the drop-down menu and then click the OK button.

  • Click the Close option in the Settings window.

  • Open the email application by entering the account name and the password.
