Step 1: Installing The BEST Installer

  • From your Windows computer browser, go to the GravityZone Control Center.
  • Click on the Network tab followed by Packages.
  • Choose the desired package that you wish to install on your Windows computer.
  • Click on the Download button.
  • In the opened window, choose the Windows Downloader option and wait for the installer to download.

Step 2: Install The Orca.exe Tool

This tool helps you to create and edit the Windows installer packages as per your desire.

  • Download the Orca.exe package for your Windows computer.
  • Run the package.
  • When prompted, select the required MSI Tools and click on the Install button.
  • Install the Orca.exe tool on your computer by following the on-screen instructions.

Step 3: Customize The MSI Wrapper

  • Initially, make sure that you have downloaded the MSI Wrapper file.
  • Now, extract the file and look for the MSI Template.
  • Right-click on Template and choose Edit with Orca.
  • Now, a window titled eps_installer_signed_msi-Orca will open.
  • Expand the Tables section.
  • Click on the Property option.
  • In the Property list, look for the GZ_PACKAGE_ID file and right-click on it.
  • Go to the Value column.
  • In the given field, type the value and add a string to the installation package name.
  • Get the string from your installation package file and add it to the name.
  • Now, restart your Windows computer by running the REBOOT_IF_NEEEDED=1 command.
  • Finally, make sure to save the changes.

Step 4: Unblock MSI Wrapper

The MSI Wrapper is blocked by default. To unblock it, follow the below instructions.

  • Choose the MSI Wrapper Template and right-click on it.
  • Click on the Properties option.
  • Go to the General tab of the Properties dialog box.
  • Click Unblock > OK.

Step 5: Install The MSI Package

  • Run the /qn or /quiet command if you wish to perform the silent installation.
  • If you wish to install the Bitdefender Security Agent through the MSI package, use the modified MSI wrapper.
