How To Use Kaspersky Rescue Disk

Kaspersky Rescue Disk is a bootable disk designed for cleaning your malware-infected computer. It is free and will scan any files or folders on the computer without scanning the entire hard drive. If you want to use this rescue disk, first, you need to download the Kaspersky Rescue Disk Image file on your computer. To install and use the Kaspersky Rescue Disk on your computer, you can follow the below steps.

DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL KASPERSKY RESCUE DISK:

  • First, open the computer’s browser and visit Kaspersky’s official webpage.
  • Now, download the latest version of Kaspersky Rescue Disk software.
  • After completing the download, you need to write the Kaspersky Rescue Disk to a CD/DVD or a USB drive.
  • You can use the Rufus or Win32 Disk Imager tool for creating bootable drives.
  • Now, download and install the bootable drive on your computer.
  • Open the bootable tool and choose the USB drive from the drop-down list.
  • Click on the SELECT button and find the Kaspersky Rescue Disk Image.
  • To write the Kaspersky Rescue Disk to a USB drive, do the required tasks.

RUN KASPERSKY RESCUE DISK:

  • Make sure to connect the USB drive to your computer and start booting your device.
  • Now, run the Kaspersky Rescue Disk and do the on-screen instructions.
  • In the next window, agree to the End User License Agreement to continue.
  • If you want to modify the parameters, click on the Change parameters link at the bottom of the Ready to scan dialog box.
  • After completing the parameter settings, click on the OK button.
  • Select the Start scan button at the bottom of the page to run the scan.

START SCANNING THE COMPUTER:

  • Now, select the Objects Scan tab from the Kaspersky Rescue Disk window.
  • Next, choose the drives that you want to scan on your computer.
  • Click on the Start Object Scan button.
  • The scanning process will start to detect the virus on your selected drives.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to remove the detected virus from the drives.
