Transferring the Kaspersky product license from one computer to another one

*Note: The following instructions explain how to transfer the Kaspersky Security Cloud license from one computer to another.

  • Finding the activation code of your product 
  • Uninstalling the Kaspersky product from your current computer
  • Installing the latest version of the Kaspersky Security Cloud product on your new computer
  • Activating the license

Step 1: Finding the activation code

  • For the online store: Look for the activation code in the email that you received from Kaspersky.
  • For CD: In the Quick Start guide that is provided along with the setup CD, you can find your product’s activation code. 
  • For renewal card or license activation card: Look at the back of the card.

Step 2: Uninstalling the Kaspersky product

For Windows

  • Make sure that the Kaspersky application is completely closed on your computer.
  • Open the Control Panel screen.
  • Click Programs & Features and select the Kaspersky application.
  • Locate the Uninstall/Change button at the top of the programs list and click on it.
  • Uninstall the Kaspersky application by following the instructions displayed on the screen.

For Mac

  • Open the Kaspersky Security Cloud application on your Mac computer.
  • Click Help > Kaspersky Security Cloud Support > Uninstall > Uninstall. If prompted, type your computer’s password in the given field and click OK > Quit.

Step 3: Installing the Kaspersky application on the new computer

  • Download the Kaspersky Security Cloud application’s installer file for your Windows or Mac computer.
  • Run the installer file.
  • Accept the license agreement of Kaspersky and click the Install button. 
  • Once the application is installed on your computer, the window with the following message “The application has been installed successfully” will open. 
  • Click the Done button on the same screen.

Step 4: Activating the Kaspersky product on the new computer

  • Open the Kaspersky Security Cloud application on your computer.
  • Click the Sign-in button.
  • Sign in to your Kaspersky account using a valid user name and password.
  • After signing in, click the Licenses tab.
  • Now, in the field titled “Enter an activation code,” type your product’s license key and click the Add button.
  • Activate the product by following the instructions displayed on the screen.
