  • Open the Run dialog box on the desktop by pressing the Win and the R keys together.
  • Type “msconfig,” and click OK.
  • The System Configuration window opens up. Now, go to the Boot panel.
  • Tick the checkbox of the Safe Boot option, then click Apply and select OK.
  • Click the Restart button in the pop-up window to reboot the Windows system.
  • Again, open the Run dialog box and enter “regedit.”
  • Open the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE folder. Following it, go to the SOFTWARE folder, and your Kaspersky product folder.
  • Follow the path, AVP (version number) > settings.
  • You can find a list of setting items on the right panel.
  • Find the ‘EnablePswrdProtect’ file name and open it.
  • Modify the Value data to “0”, and select OK.
  • Open the ‘OPEP’ item and keep its Value data blank.
  • Return to the System Configuration window and disable the Safe Boot option.
