To Reset Password:
- Open the Kaspersky Security application on the computer.
- When the dashboard shows up in the Kaspersky window, select the settings or gear icon at the lower-left corner of the window.
- In the Settings window, navigate to the General navigation tab, and then click Change password on the right panel.
- Now, the Password protection dialog box pops up on the screen Check whether the Manage Parental Control menu is ticked, then click the Change or remove password link present above the Password scope.
- Next, know the password conditions, then enter a new password in the New password and the Confirm password fields.
- After that, select the Save button.
To Remove Password:
- Open the Run dialog box on the desktop by pressing the Win and the R keys together.
- Type “msconfig,” and click OK.
- The System Configuration window opens up. Now, go to the Boot panel.
- Tick the checkbox of the Safe Boot option, then click Apply and select OK.
- Click the Restart button in the pop-up window to reboot the Windows system.
- Again, open the Run dialog box and enter “regedit.”
- Open the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE folder. Following it, go to the SOFTWARE folder, and your Kaspersky product folder.
- Follow the path, AVP (version number) > settings.
- You can find a list of setting items on the right panel.
- Find the ‘EnablePswrdProtect’ file name and open it.
- Modify the Value data to “0”, and select OK.
- Open the ‘OPEP’ item and keep its Value data blank.
- Return to the System Configuration window and disable the Safe Boot option.
