 How To Change Kaspersky Firewall Settings

1. Set Network Property in Kaspersky Firewall

  • To start the Kaspersky application, double-click on the application icon on the Desktop.
  • The main window for Kaspersky Internet Security will open. Click the Settings icon in the lower-left corner.
  • Go to the Protection section and click on it.
  • Select Firewall in the right side window.
  • The Firewall settings window will open.
  • Now, select Networks.
  • In the Network properties window, choose the network you want to change and click on the Edit option.
  • If needed, you can change the network's name, select the type of network, and choose the checkboxes opposite to the required notifications.
  • If you want to select a printer, you can choose before you click on the Save option.
  • Finally, the Network property will change.

2. Set Connection Rules for Applications

  • To start your Kaspersky application, double-click on the application icon to turn on Kaspersky firewall on the Desktop.
  • In the Kaspersky Internet Security interface, click the Settings icon in the lower-left corner.
  • Go to the Protection section and click on it.
  • Click on Firewall in the right window.
  • The Firewall settings window will open.
  • Select Configure application rules.
  • Now, choose the application and in the Network column, choose any action from the drop-down list.
  • Finally, the connection rule will apply.

3. Set Packet Rules

  • Open the Kaspersky application and then click the Settings icon to change the Kaspersky Firewall settings.
  • Now, click Protection > Firewall.
  • The Firewall settings window will open.
  • Click on Configure packet rules.
  • Select the packet rule which you want to edit and click Edit or Add in the lower-left corner.
  • When the Edit packet rule page opens, make the required changes to the rules.
  • View the packet rule results in the report and choose the check box Log events before you click the Save option.
  • Finally, the Firewall would check the rules one by one from the start to the end of the list.
