The BullGuard antivirus software is used to protect your system from all types of malware attacks. This antivirus software is good at removing threats such as trojans software designed to steal your personal details. In the BullGuard antivirus software, you can find two types of scans; Full & Custom Scan. The Full Scan type can be used for scanning the entire system, whereas, the Custom scan can be used for scanning only specific file, folder, or drive. BullGuard Internet Security software has the Virus Scan feature.  So, if you want to perform a virus scan operation on your system, then download and install the BullGuard Internet Security application on your system. To know how to install the Bull Internet Security software, follow the quick steps given below.

  • Go to the official site of the BullGuard application.
  • Click the For Home menu available at the top of the screen.
  • Choose the BullGuard Internet Security option from the drop-down menu.
  • The BullGuard Internet Security software is supported on Windows, Mac, and Android platforms.
  • Now the BullGuard Internet Security software download wizard will appear on the screen.
  • Click the Free or 30-day trail button based on your requirement.
  • As soon as you click any one of the buttons, the software download process will begin.
  • After the successful completion of the software download process, begin the installation process.
  • Once the installation is done, open the BullGuard Internet Security application on your system, perform the scan operation.
  • If any threat is found during the scan process, then fix it by following the instructions displayed on the screen.

Bullguard Firewall Port Scan

  • If you receive port scan alerts from the BullGuard application, then it is due to the default browser (FireFox) present in your system.
  • To fix this issue, restart your system and wait for at least five minutes.
  • Restart your system again after five minutes. Restarting your system two times will help to apply the updates correctly.
  • After restarting your system for the second time, open the BullGuard application.

Bullguard Full Scan

To perform a full scan operation in the BullGuard antivirus software, read and proceed with the guided instructions given below.

  • Launch the BullGuard application on your system.
  • Locate the Scan option on the Home screen of the BullGuard application and select it.
  • You can see three options displayed on the screen.
  • Navigate to the Full Scan button and select it.
  • Now, the BullGuard application will start to scan your entire system.
  • After the scanning process, if any threats are found, then the found issues will be displayed in the result window.
  • Click the Fix button to clear the threats found during the scanning process.
  • If you want to close the scan result window, click the Cancel button.
  • After clearing the threats, click the Close button available at the bottom of the screen.
  • If the BullGuard application fails to fix the issue, then click the Send Log button and follow the on-screen instructions.

Port Scan Attack Bullguard

If your a Port scan attack takes place in your BullGuard application, follow the troubleshooting instructions given below.

  • First, try to identify the IP address causing the port scan attack issue.
  • After that, block the specific port address by following the step-by-step instructions given below.
  • You can block the IP address temporarily and permanently.
  • You have to use the Firewall Logs tab to block the IP address temporarily.
  • To block the IP address permanently, navigate to the Banned Hosts tab and select it.
  • Locate the plus (+) button and click on it. Select the IP addresses you wish to block.
  • As soon as you add each IP address to the list, the Firewall will create a separate rule for each of them.
  • Open the host address window by clicking the plus button available beside the screen. Now the Edit Host address dialog box will appear on the screen.
  • Enter the address of the Internet Protocol that you want to ban or block in the Address text field and its subnet mask.
  • After entering the required information in the given fields, click the OK button.
  • Now you can check the banned IP address in the Banned Hosts tab.
  • In the BullGuard Internet Security application window, click Dashboard Firewall Banned Hosts.
  • If you want to configure the IP address that you have added in the Banned Hosts list, locate and right-click on it.
  • Now a context menu will appear on the screen. Select the Add, Remove, or Trust this host option based on your need.

Why Do I Keep Getting Port Scan Attack Bullguard

If the port scan attack issue takes place in the BullGuard application, then read the troubleshooting instructions given below to fix it.

  • You can change the attack detection settings in your BullGuard application.
  • To do so, open the BullGuard application and navigate to the Attack Detection settings menu.
  • Now the Attack Detection Settings window with different types of options will appear on the screen.
  • Make sure to enable the Detect Port Scans, Denial-of-Service (DoS) attacks, Detect IP Address Spoofing, and Fragmented- ICMP Attack options.
  • After selecting the options, click the OK button.
  • Now, navigate to the Advanced Port Scan Parameters section and check if the parameters are set as follows.
  • The default weight of the Opened Ports is 0 and the Closed Ports is 1.
  • Set the period of the port scan attack to the 600 milliseconds.
  • After setting the port scan parameters, click the OK button.
  • Make sure the Block unsolicited ARP packets, Protect against hijacked gateways, and Protect against IP address duplication options are enabled.
  • Click the OK button. If the BullGuard keeps notifying about the port scan attack issue, then contact the technical experts by clicking the Call button available on this screen.

Bullguard Scan Slow

Following troubleshooting instructions given below will help you to fix the BullGuard slow-scanning issue.

  • First, check if the file size is large. If so, stop the scan process. Choose some specific files or folder and perform the scan operation.
  • Check if any other antivirus software is running on your system.
  • If so, disable it temporarily and then try to perform the scan operation.
  • If the issue persists, then run a check disk. If any bad sectors are found while running the check disk process, contact our technical support team, they will help you with resolving the issue.
  • To run the check disk process, follow the instructions given below. Open the Command Prompt window on your system.
  • Type the chkdsk/r command in the given Command Prompt.
  • Now the drive will be locked. The scanning process takes place on the next reboot.
  • If the issue remains unresolved, then click the Call button. As soon as you click the Call button, you will be directed to our technical support team.
  • They will assist you in fixing the BullGuard slow-scanning issue.

Bullguard Scan Stops

If the BullGuard application stops the scan process unexpectedly, then uninstall and reinstall the software to fix this issue.

  • Go to your system’s Control Panel section and select the Programs option followed by Uninstall a Program.
  • Now a list of installed program files will appear on the screen.
  • Locate the BullGuard application in the program list and double-click on it.
  • Now the BullGuard Premium Protection Uninstall window will appear on the screen.
  • Click the Next button to begin the BullGuard software uninstallation process.
  • Now the Keep the settings window will appear on the screen.
  • If you want to save the current BullGuard settings for future use, then click the checkbox beside the Keep the settings option.
  • Now the BullGuard uninstallation process begins.
  • On the successful completion of the uninstallation process, the Completing BullGuard Premium Protected Uninstall window will appear with two options.
  • They are Reboot Now, and I want to manually reboot later.
  • Select any one of the option and click the Finish button. Now, re-install the BullGuard application again on your system.
  • Go to the official site of BullGuard. Download the software file and install it on your system.
  • After the re-installation, launch the BullGuard application and try to run the scan operation.

Bullguard Scan Stuck

  • If the scan job is stuck unexpectedly in your BullGuard application, then check if your system is infected by any virus.
  • If so, remove the virus from your system. Since the BullGuard will not be able to perform the scan operation in the system infected by the virus.
  • Run the System File Checker tool to resolve the files stored on your system.
  • Open the Command Prompt application on your system.
  • If your Windows version is 10, 8.1, or 8, then run the inbox Deployment Image Servicing & Management (DISM) before running the System File Checker.
  • Now, type the DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth command in the Command Prompt window and press the Enter button on your system control panel.
  • Start the scan process by entering the sfc /scannow command in the Command Prompt window.
  • The above command will scan all the files, folders, drives stored on your system.
  • At the end of the scan operation, you will receive a message describing the scanning process.
