Bitdefender Antivirus protects your device from unknown threats such as spyware, ransomware, Trojans, and malware. It uses some firewall rules to control the applications installed on your device. It also controls access to the Internet and network resources. If you wish to add a firewall rule or change the Bitdefender Antivirus firewall settings, follow the below-mentioned steps.
On your computer, launch the Bitdefender Antivirus software, navigate to the left-side panel, and click the Protection tab.
Click on Settings in the Firewall module and choose the Rules option.
Now, the rules created for the already installed applications will be displayed on the screen.
Select the application to view the rules such as Network, Protocol, Traffic, Ports, IP, and Access.
To change the firewall rules, click the Add rule button or select Reset rules.
To add a new application rule, click the Add rule button and select the required rules.
Click on Browse and select your application’s setup file.
Select the Allow option to allow the application to access the Internet.
Choose the network type and select the IP protocol to apply the rule.
Next, select Outbound, Inbound, or Both as your traffic direction.
For advanced firewall settings, click the Advanced tab and select either Custom Remote Address or Custom Local Address to configure Bitdefender antivirus firewall settings.
Disable The Firewall settings In The Bitdefender Antivirus
Launch the Bitdefender Antivirus software on your computer and navigate to the Protection window.
Click on Settings in the Antivirus module and select Shield from the left-side panel.
Toggle off the Bitdefender Shield button and navigate to the Drives and devices tab.
Click on Scan mapped network drives and select Disabled.
Next, go to the Protection Features screen and click the Settings button in the Online Threat Prevention module.
Click the Web Protection tab and toggle off all the protection features.
Navigate to the Protection Features screen and toggle off the switch in the Firewall module.
Also, set the switch off for Advanced Threat Defense, AntiSpam, Vulnerability, Safe Files, and Ransomware Remediation modules.
