Using The Windows Command Prompt App:

  • On your Windows computer, click the Start menu available at the bottom-left corner of the screen.
  • Type ‘cmd’ in the control panel and press the Enter key.
  • From the search result, give a right-click on the Command Prompt app and select the Run as administrator option.
  • In the Command Prompt window, type sc stop “AVGIDSAgent” and press the Enter key.
  • Type sc config “AVGIDSAgent” start= disabled and press the Enter key.
  • Type sc delete “AVGIDSAgent” and press the Enter key.

Using The AVG Program:

  • On your computer, launch the AVG program first.
  • On the AVG main interface, click the Identity component.
  • Navigate to the Identity Protection section and toggle off the switch to disable the protection.
  • Navigate to the Identity Alert section and click the switch to turn off the Identity alert.
  • Close the AVG program and restart your computer.
  • Check if the AVG Antivirus Identity Protection has been disabled.

Using The Control Panel App:

  • On your Windows computer, click the Start menu and type ‘control panel’ in the search panel.
  • From the search result, double-click on the Control Panel app.
  • Click the Programs and Features tab.
  • Select the AVG Protection option from the displayed list.
  • Next, right-click on it and select the Change option.
  • Proceed with the on-screen prompts and select Add or remove features.
  • Uncheck the Identity Protection checkbox from the list of components displayed on the screen.
  • Proceed with the AVG program installation and complete it with the help of the on-screen prompts.
  • This will disable the AVG Identity Protection.
